Hirsch is a Professor of Instruction in Writing and Associate Director of the Writing Program. In the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science, she co-directs Engineering Design and Communication (EDC), the Writing Program's cross-disciplinary course that she helped develop, required for all first year engineering students.
